Central
Otago Athletic Sports 2016
Monday 31st October
All students attending the morning session
of the athletic sports tomorrow need to meet Mrs Eastwood at 9:00am on the bank
at Molyneux Park, where a roll will be taken.
Be sure that you have plenty to eat and drink in your bag, have your
school sunhat and sunscreen. The weather may change during the day so bring
something warm to put on. A reminder
that school teeshirts and black shorts are the school sports uniform along with
the school tracksuit.
The long distance races start the day at
9:15 am and the 16 competitors for these will need to be warmed up ready to go.
Girls’ track events are in the morning with
the boys’ track events after lunch (12:30).
When rotating around the field events please
stay with your team and encourage them as you did at our school sports. Each
group will be given another pamphlet tomorrow with the map and order of
rotations along with the corrected entry sheet. (Sorry I had a few errors on
the one that came home on Friday). Parents on the bank at the end of the
sprints will also have copies.
Mrs Breen and Mrs Reilly will be in charge
on the bank, along with Mrs Eastwood and will have the school 1st
aid kit with them.
Jack S, Bobbie, Mason, Sophie and Ana are
only competing in the morning and will be retuned to school for the afternoon –
help to transport these people would be appreciated. Lucas, Angus, Annajhay,
Amber and Sylvie will leave school at 12:00 (by car, any offers?) to compete in
the afternoon field events.
Thank you to Mrs Love x2, Mrs Valmai Breen
and Mrs Williams who will be judging at the end of the sprints & long
distance races. A reminder that children may not head across the track at any time to
see these people – this area is out of bounds.
There is a canteen offering a variety of
food and drinks.
Should you have a problem I can be
contacted on 021 449 296.
Enjoy your day – do your best – support
each other.
Chris Beilby
