Camp Parent Letter 1

Just in case some of these are in the depths of bags, here is the note that went home on Wednesday as a hard copy.

Dear Parents

RE: ACCOMPANYING PARENTS FOR YEAR 3 & 4 CAMP

Thank you so much to everyone who has been so willing to come with us to camp, in an ideal world it would have been wonderful to offer places to everyone, however, we do have restrictions as far as numbers go. The following parents/caregivers will accompany us on the Year 3 & 4 camp from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th September, 2018.

Emma Stratford/Tracey Broome
Ed Diver
Atiria Te Huia
Rachael Baxter
Alana Melvin
Lara Dowling
Rhys Tait
Aaron Dyson
Nathan McLean
Vanessa Breen
Heather Breen

Ten parents is our required ratio, and we have 11 this means that in the event of any change of circumstances or illness, we have a buffer of 1 adult extra. It also means that if your intentions have changed, you can let us know immediately and we will take you off the list.

Costs
The cost for this camp will be $240 per student. Please see Mrs Eastwood if there are difficulties with this. Parent costs are covered within the budget.

Food
Mrs Dwyer is organising the food, if there are people who would like to help with this please contact her. It is always useful to have a parent who is attending to pack up prior to camp and know where everything is once we get there. We ask each family to provide some baking and we will let you know if there are any other items that could be donated. Thank you Donna for getting in touch and offering fruit.

Travel
We have been allocated a 49 seater bus, which means that most parents will travel with the students and 3 staff, and we will only require 1 emergency vehicle. Who this will be, will be decided amongst those parents attending.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for our camp. The children are talking about it regularly and part of our class work this term will involve our preparation and follow-up from camp. We will keep you informed of the activities at the Marae, and the suitability of the Gabriel’s Gully walk.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

Kind regards,

Chris Beilby, Claire Dwyer, Ali Roberts
