Week 6 Term 3

Count down to camp! Yeah!
Please look for those homework and poetry books at home - there are still several people who have not yet established the routine of getting these home and back to school.  This self management challenge is a real stumbling block to their learning.
Camp:

  • Thank you to the 12 people who returned their camp notices by the due date last Friday. Please check for these in bags. Named hard copies were given to everyone last Wednesday.
  • A meeting will be held on Tuesday at 7pm in Room 3 for those parents attending camp. Please make an effort to attend.
  • Many Hands Makes Light Work sheet is in homework books.  We are practising looking after our gear and ourselves, as well as helping as a member of "TEAM FAMILY". This is part of our camp preparation.
  • Keep working on knowing your mihimihi
  • Prepare your singing eisteddfod - these will be heard at camp. Check the separate post for the criteria.

Spelling: We continue to listen for and record 'long u' spelling patterns. Tooling needs to be completed each night. Please check the homework book for each week's test score and work again on any errors.

Musical - Aladdin: the lyrics for our song are in homework books to learn. We need to know these by the end of next week. Mrs Roberts will be working with the class on their staging and costumes for this.

Kapahaka Preschool Centres Performances = 4th September, we have been working hard this year and will be sharing our skills. As well as knowing the words and actions we have been learning how to manage ourselves as part of the school Kapahaka team, and to respect our leaders.

Years 4 - 8 Touch - registration for this after school competition is coming up, please email carolynlyon@stgerards.school.nz if you would like to play. She will have more information.

School Photos = 6th September

School Mass = Sunday 9th September

Wednesday:
  • Gymnastics - wear your sports uniform
  • School mass
Friday:
  • Homework books at school
  • Assembly Room 6

Don't forget to read for enjoyment each night and remember that being read to as often as possible is really important. Enjoy sharing books together.

Have a great week!
