Wanderlust Books Visit

What Happens To Old Books?

Thank you so much Tim, from Wanderlust Books for a fabulous learning experience in your shop this afternoon. Thanks so much Maria and Bernie for walking with us. Tim told us about the books in his shop, where he gets them from, and what happens to the ones that are broken or have missing pages.  Mrs Robinson would have been proud of us, as we have saved 2 books from the ripped up recycling bin - the ones that she especially looks for, as the paper in the pages is the perfect quality for her garlands.  We also brought another couple of books back to use for making an angel or a Christmas tree.  As we left, we all chose a new book mark from a box of bookmarks left in books that have been sold to him - we also saw a real $1 note that someone must have used as a bookmark.

Busy bees helping Tim rip pages from books for the recycling as cardboard and paper.

Bobbie is impressed with the smallest book in the shop. The largest was nearly as tall as we are. Annajhay is reading the tiny book in the photograph below.

Tim, thank you so much, I'm sure many of us will be back to see you. I was given a sealed envelope addressed to St Gerards School that we opened on our return to school and we discovered a $100 gift voucher. Thank you so much.
