Week 5 Term 4

Congratulations to Alia (reader), Lars (candle lighter) and Payton (announcer) for a great job at whole school prayer in the church on Monday - very proud of how respectfully and confidently you undertook your roles.

Today we welcomed St Paul, Mary and St Gerard to Room 3 - well done you people who remembered that we were having our saints dress up day - with racing out for duty yesterday afternoon I forgot to remind the class at the end of the day. Casey chose St Paul because her new school is St Pauls, while Archie chose St Gerard, and Amelia the first saint - Mary.
Thank you for the photo, Maree.

Wednesday 16th: Farm Visit - see separate post for information.
Thursday 17th: Cultural assembly 1:30 in the school hall: this is a new initiative from our senior cultural leaders. Please join us as we celebrate the diversity of cultures represented in our school. Several people in our room are "on the programme" for a variety of items, and Jelena, Adam and Hayvin will present their mihimihi.  Don't forget to polish these up. I'm looking forward to this special event.
This week's gardeners are: Sophie, Jacko, Amelia K, Dusty and Greer.  Bring your gloves and covered shoes if you are going to work with sharp tools.
Thursday 24th November - catch up swimming day. Rooms 3 & 4 will travel together to this by bus and swim at 1:30 and 2pm.  Togs, towel and goggles required.

Still some poetry books missing in action at home - please have good look as our poetry is part of our reading programme - also a great keepsake for eisteddfod poems for the future.

Homework
  1. Reading - reading logs are a bit sparse - but we have no interruptions this week!! YES.
  2. Spelling - most levels have the 'er' spelling pattern again this week - test on Friday.
  3. Eisteddfod Speech - time to start thinking about this. Speeches will be heard 5th/6th December with the eisteddfod assembly Thursday 8th. We are in week 5, and this is at the start of week 9.
  4. Religious Education: as part of our learning in the Communion of Saints Strand we have been talking about sad times and what we can do to help us feel better. Please make time to talk together about the home activity worksheet.
  5. Morning Programme check the planner.  It's been so exciting to see how well Mrs Waldron has this working - what a lot of interesting 'teachers' you are.
Have a great week.
