Week 3 Term 1

What's happening this week?

Tuesday:

  • Swimming. We will be at the pool from 9 -11am, returning to school by bus at 11:10
  • Bus safety with Mr Milford at 11:40.
Assembly this Friday organised by the Year 7 & 8 team.

Sunday 24th February:
  • There is the school Mass and picnic at 10.00am at Pioneer Park. Families are to bring a salad or dessert and there will be picnic games before lunch. BBQ sausages will be provided. Please support Father Vaughan and the school by attending this outdoor mass.

Junior School Camp:
  • We now have a definite date for our Room 7, 3 and 4 Camp, which is Thursday 7th/Friday 8th March. We are camping overnight at school on the Thursday and doing various activities on the Friday. We will need 4-6 person tents for the overnight camp, parents to help erect these, some parents to stay overnight and/or join us for the activities on Friday. A camp notice will be sent home this week.
Goal setting Sheets:
  • Thank you to those people who returned these by last Friday. If yours is still sitting on the bench, it would be great to have these back.
Seesaw:
  • I have set up a Room 3 account and sent home the information sheets on Friday for families to sign up. Well done to those who have. This is a learning curve for me, so all may not be perfect to start with as this "technological immigrant" gets to grips with this. I will attempt to get something on each child's account by the end of the week. Trying to go solo on this now, so could be interesting.
Reading:
  • Please continue reading to your child. Some people also have a book to read to you, and all children will have an ABC book by the end of the week. Please make sure that your child can say the letter name, make the sound for the letter, and give a word that starts with that sound. It has been interesting to see that there are gaps in this knowledge with everyone.  Thank you to the parents & grandparents who have helped me set these books out.
It is great to see how quickly your children have established the class routines. Please encourage this independence, especially with keeping track of their own clothing and bringing their reading folder everyday.

Have a great week.

Chris
