I was away at in-service training this afternoon and was disappointed to see many homework books in the homework box, and reading folders back in the class box. After each group has reading, I expect children to take their reading folder and put it directly into their bags. Homework books do not come out of reading folders at school during the week unless we are glueing something in.
Spelling needed to be completed every night this week with the test on Friday. Expect your child to take responsibility for bringing this home. This is the 'self management' that we are learning in Room 3. Most days we spend some time getting book bags into backpacks, however class time finishes at 12:45 and my course starts at 1pm, so as I am working to the wire to see all reading groups, there is no time to chase up those who need prompting with what goes home. This may well need to be a goal set for some people.
