Quite an excited group swam lengths in the main pool today and are very keen to do this at the sports. I have seen them all swim in lane 6 today, and feel that they are capable of swimming in the non-championship event. I will arrange to have a senior student in the lane with some of them on the day of the sports.
Julie and I talked about how the sports will work on Tuesday and agreed that if these children are entering in main pool events, they will not be swimming in the junior sports events as well. I spoke to the children involved at the end of the day and all were very keen to swim in the main pool events. The children involved are: Pippa, Bella D, Charlotte O, Amelia, Tara, Lily, Tamai, Eden and Jedi.
These children will be entered in the non-championship freestyle and backstroke races in the 9 and under age group. Please contact me if you wish to have your child swim solely in the junior sports in the therapeutic pool.
